I picked up the ringing phone, and upon hearing the person on the other end mention the word "survey", my mind was almost made up to say "Not interested". But she beat me to it! She spoke really fast, & promised she'd be quick too. So I agreed to entertain her. Actually, I felt pity for her, having to work on a Friday night. I could always hang up if the survey got ridiculous.
Turned out that she was doing a survey on women, marriage & babies, or something to that effect. Quite interesting. Not one of those silly surveys where you are promised a large plasma tv or something at the end of it.
How many hours do you spend at work a day?
How many hours do you spend with your spouse in a day?
How many hours do you spend with yr child in a day?
How many minutes do you spend doing housework in a day?
Is it important to give your child a sibling?
Well, I was very honest in all those, but I did tell a little fib. Right at the beginning of the survey. When she asked about my age. I told her I was 25. When I'm not.
Hey, I thought it was a silly survey at first ok? How was I supposed to know it was a
meaningful survey?
Anyway I realised that lying has more disadvantages than advantages. For a start, you need more brain power to draft a story. Later on, I was also asked on what age I got married at. I got married at 25, about 2 yrs ago, but hey, I couldn't possibly tell her that right? She also asked at what age I thought was a good time to start a family. I told her 27. Which insya-Allah will be the age I'll be when we start a family.
Oh well I suppose 2 yrs wouldn't really make much of a difference in that survey ey? Unless, another thousand women they interviewed did the same thing too.
Whoops!
