I've never had as many bad experiences as taxi drivers in my whole life as I've had now, during my pregnancy! And it's clear that there are still many errant cabbies on the loose.
Travelling towards the west today, I sat in one of the most horrifying taxi rides ever. Lagi terok drp kat BKK or M'sia. This cabby, no matter what, refused to give way to a van, who was trying to inch (literally) his way into our lane to avoid an accident in the middle lane!
I wanted to tell the cabby that he's ferrying a 30-week pregnant lady but I was afraid he might go berserk & start a riot in his own cab.
So I prayed & held on tight to my tummy. I think the baby could feel I was tensing up; he twirled around slightly.
Ordeal wasn't over coz a while later, that van caught up with the cab & swooped (swerve is not strong enough to describe it) right in!!! This time, it was the van which didn't want to give way & went into the cab's lane each time the cab changed lanes.
Rabak. I felt very religious suddenly, uttering whatever prayers i could. I was more worried about my baby, rather than my own safety. A thought flashed my mind, "Are my maternal instincts at work already?"
I eventually reached my destination safely, alhamdulillah. The uncle said a "Thank You" to me, God knows whatever for. Thank you for being in his cab, if not the ordeal would've been worse?!
I have his vehicle number & when I got off, I was seriously considering to lodge a report. I'm usually nice to cabbies, the obvious reason being my own dad is one, but this experience, I really wouldn't want anyone to go through.
So should I write a quick email to the cab company?
