I've only gone crabbing once - at Mandurah, Western Australia, during our 1st yr @currie hall. There were about 20 of us on that hostel floor & I think only 2 or 3 crabs were actually caught!! Heh, at the end of the day, we eventually had crabs to feast on - crabs which had been pre-empted as being necessary in case no one caught any, and so were purchased & cooked. So we all took photos with red, cooked crabs.
I've been thinking about cooking crabs for the past few days so when I woke up this morning, I thought it was a good time. Off I trotted to the market across the lane & got about 2 kg of crabs.
I'm finally done with the cleaning. It's amazing (alhamdulillah!) that I wasn't turned off my the smell at all! But of course, it being the first time I cleaned the crabs on my own, some of them are now shell-less. And now when I look at the crabs, I wonder if they are enough for the family to eat for both lunch & dinner. Think by lunch dah bis (cheh, macam sedap..hehe).
But I remembered a story where Rasullullah S.A.W received an invitation from someone to come to his house, as he had a piece of meat to cook. Rasulullah S.A.W accepted his invitation, but also asked for the whole Madinah to come to his house to eat the food too. That person panicked as there wouldn't be enough for the whole Madinah to eat! But his wife said that since that was what Rasulullah suggested, they'd do just that.
So his wife cooked, and when Rasulullah came, he read some prayers & stirred the pot. The whole Madinah came, and surprise surprise! There was enough food for everyone!
The moral of the story is, the importance lies in the
barakah that Allah has bestowed upon us. If there is
barakah, there will be enough for everyone.
Hopefully what I'll be cooking later will be blessed with
barakah too, so insya-Allah there'll be enough crabs to go around.
Tapi jangan lah cuma beli 2 pieces of crabs aje, lepas tu kacau periuk & baca2 nak mintak berkat. Tu kedekut namanya...hee~
OK, enough of story telling. It's time to cook~ bismillah!

Salams,
Thanks for the invite! haha!
Yeah, we went crabbing in Rockingham, it was super fun but we didn't catch anything. Totally sucked at it!
I like fishing better...especially off the beach.
