It's amazing how something taken for granted by one can be the ultimate crave for another person. Tonia had been wanting to eat prata with curry (?!!), so I brought her to Zam Zam for prata (so I can have my murtabak & eat it too), and later, take her out for jalan2.
(Tonia & us took psych in uni. She's here for 2 months for a job attachment)
Thank goodness I managed to find Arab St without getting lost. After that we went round & round, continually fascinated by the stuff they sell there (baskets, laces, etc)
She found Golden Landmark interesting, which was good. Coz I saw
Tranquil Hut & we spent about 20 mins fiddling with the stuff hantaran / deco stuff they've got there. Lovely.
After we parted, I decided to pop by RHbridal to have a look. $1290 for a 1-day affair? Belum termasuk photographer tau. Baru makan dam. Gee, I have to type about 3 reports to earn that money every month. But maybe I'm just
jakun. Weddings
do cost that much.
Still keeping my options open. Next, insya-Allah popping by Inai to have a look.
Hearts & Vines too.
A part of me says that I want to make this good & memorable. I don't want any regrets. I can only hope & pray all goes well. After all we can't control
everything.
But sorry dear, much as I know yr mama was an ex-mak andam, I don't really fancy the idea of getting made up by my own MIL (hehe, if God wills it). Heh heh.

1 thing down...
a million more to go.
If not for him, we'd still be kursus-less.
So it's set then, 6th, 9th & 10th, insya-Allah.
Get your notebooks & pens ready, it's time for some serious notetaking.
Heh.

Basket case

An uncle, who's probably younger than me, got married. Anyway, that's not the point.
The point is, the hantarans given by the bride were placed in really lovely baskets & boxes. Very flowery (in fact,
too flowery) . I snapped the pics in a haste, coz we were rushing to send the pengantin off to the bride's place.
It's not worth it to buy the baskets, yet it's not worth it either to rent it, coz the charges are exorbitant. Maybe I should attempt to make my own. Dig out some baskets, wrap them out like teatea did, & send them over to him.
Hehe, macam fun pun ada!
Anyway for the first time in my life, I followed the groom to the bride's side. The kompang was kinda cool too, but I almost choked with my eyes quite wide open when I found out it cost a whopping $600! I told Mak & some of my nen sedaras that perhaps I should just get my sis to play the recorder at the wedding.
Was thinking of scrapping the kompang bit, but my chat with someone just now made me realise that, yeah,it'd be nice to have the kompang, coz it's the highlight of the show. See how lah. He's paying (yeah, you have to pay, this things come from the groom, hehe).

Short & long term goals
By Aug 05,
we hope (real hard) to lose at least (between) 5 kg (for me) to ..... (for him).
By Aug 05,
I hope (really hard) my zits would stop popping & my scars would lighten.
By Aug 05,
I hope, I'd be ready, more than ever, spiritually, for the next big thing.
By Aug 05, insya-Allah, I really hope
we'll be ready.
But in the shorter term, by the end of Jan 05,
I hope, we'd have registered for that kursus.
PS: For some reason, I keep typing
kurus when I
actually meant kursus!

The first post
So the date is drawing near...let this be a little online checklist & sequence of preparations that is needed before Aug 05 :)
It'll contain any resource we find useful,
a list of things we've done or need to do,
our rants, thoughts, frustrations, or anything that comes along our way
while we prepare step by step for the wedding, insya-Allah.
