Enter-taint-ment

Not much has happened since my last update.

I thought we'd settled the entertainment thing. Although it's the last thing I'd expected, we actually engaged 2 comedians. Each time I recall that fact, I make a silent prayer that everything will not be turned into a mini teater komedi (read: loud guffawed laughters, silly jokes aimed towards bride & groom, makciks being poked fun at & people trying to belt out their out-of-tunes).

Then today, I heard something quite interesting (synonym : shocking). The plan is, we're gonna engage the kiddos to do the kompang bit. And something extra coming from them too. Next i heard a few months ago, was that, we might be having makciks doing marhaban too. Today I heard the most unbelievable, but I was surprisingly able to pretend I didn't hear anything at all. Well, apparently, some gamelan band might be engaged too!

Great. Perhaps both of us should wear some kind of punjabi suit & perhaps a tribal wedding suit too, just to complete the whole multi-cultural concept. Nevermind both bride & groom are totally jawa-fied. After all, the pelamin is already balinese, the kompang is malay and now, this.....

And I thought entertainment was gonna be the least of my problems!

Mags

I lugged home 3 wedding related magazines yesterday. Outdated ones, at that! 1 each from year '01, '02 & '04. Hehehe! I just felt like reading bridal related stuff.
There are more to be discovered behind Kak Man's workstation. That, I shall do during the lunch breaks or when I feel pathetic at work (which happens frequently).

Today, I bought another wedding mag. Finished reading Anggun just this morning. What's nice about wedding mags anyway? They're expensive, full of ads & pictures. Nothing DIY in the mags this time too. But I still buy them anyway.

I almost bought Mei 05's Nona mag too, but after 10 minutes of browsing at the kedai mama (I requested for him to take the mag out of the plastic so I could browse, nevermind I was carrying a bag of crabs in my hand), I decided not to buy it. There were 40 DIY gubahans in this issue (which attracted me to the mag in the first place) BUT, the pictures were not explanatory at all. Maybe I'm the one who lacks creativity around here, I can't even make sense of the steps the moment they skip one step.

I think my gubahans are gonna be really simple. I like my pink baskets very much, but I have no clue how to arrange the items themselves. I reckon I'll just chuck everything into the basket & hand it over to his representatives..heheheh...

And yeah, videography? That's another item struck. We're just gonna go amateur. Hope all goes well!

Just now, in the car...we.....

gobbled up a filet-o-fish & a double cheeseburger and I felt so relaxed.

It was truly, the most wonderful thing that happened today.

The next most wonderful thing that can happen tomorrow, is for me to get up on time to kiss Nana's cheeks & forehead before she goes to school. I really miss her.

No time to think about the wedding lately. Work's really killing me.

Amongst the 'things' I saw was an old primary schoolmate - dah kawin rupanya budak tu...hehehe...

I saw another girl too from my secondary school. She looked so different in her wedding pics. And she's a mother already, at my age, 25. Cool.

Bits & pieces

Mak has done quite a bit for the little items for the wedding. She bought the little bunga rampai pouches, which I've paid for. She has also finished sewing the covers for 2 dulangs. Kewl.

These few days I've been so tired. Got back from work at 10.30 pm yesterday. I spent half the time trying to tidy up my workstation, which was dusty & full of casefiles & loose documents waiting to be filed. I really wanna rant & ramble about the people I'm beginning to dislike at work, and the lives of people that really put me to shame complaining about not having enough this & that. But I don't want to taint this blog. Thinking about having another rambling blog, but naaah, buang masa aje.

I'm looking forward to Aug 05, but for the time being, I really don't have much time to think about the wedding, save for the times my mind is not occupied with paperwork. Then when I really think about it, I get quite excited. It's like, an outlet I really look forward to.

And he's doing quite well...with the big issue. I'm really excited about that too. Can't thank him enough for making the efforts. If you reach a plateau in yr efforts, don't worry too much okay? It's quite normal, but insya-Allah, just keep going on & on ... :)

Fate's april fool's joke on me

Mak rang me up & told me to hurry down to the printer's (she found an invitation card she really liked & wanted to ask my opinion).

So I went.

The moment I saw the card, my heart skipped a beat. The card was lovely...it was just that, the names printed on the card, I know both the bride & groom. I knew they got married, but the coincidence, staring right into my face, was just..priceless.

She was my best-friend. A once partner in crime (almost). But due to some silly things (prolly I was the one), we sorta..well, drifted apart. Actually one of my wishes before I die, is to apologise to her for all the wrong things that I've done. But when I saw her last year, I just pretended not to see her. Tsk.

A year later, I've yet to catch a glimpse of her...but her wedding card, is still clearly pictured in my mind. Nevermind I wasn't invited.

And as fate may have it (again), he likes it too.

Actually, although the evil part of me says that I shouldn't print the invites on that card (just for the sake of not doing so), another part of me want to use that same design. Not sure for what though. Coz I know that won't even come close to bringing back what we had together.

For all I know, she has even forgotten my existence...
