Wrapping up
2 more days left to carry out your 2005 resolutions!
I've not achieved mine...my resolution was to brush up on my driving skills, especially parking. I'm still very much glued to the passanger seat these days.
Several countdowns for several of us in the family.
For me, 2 more days before the new year, which means long weekend for me. Yeah.

For Nana, 4 more days before she starts sch as a Sec 1 kid. She's so excited...reading her textbooks, talking about school. She wanted me to help wrap her books yesterday (using plastic she bought at KL, at KL!! Who buys book plastic from KL on a vacation??!!) so I helped. I taught her how to wrap her texts. So wrap wrap wrap, she went for at least an hour last night.
As for us, it's more of wrapping the events of what's happening for the past year. Lots of things has happened...it's time to move on & hope for the best. Why am I typing this now eh? New year's even isn't till tomorrow. Oh well, it's just the last day of work in 2005 & I just can't wait to get out of here...today.

Just now, CL said that she heard on the radio that in 2006, there'll be an extra second added to time. Scary huh? AH went on to add that that implies that the world has slowed down and will one day stop spinning. When the world starts to change its turning direction, then, it'll be the end of the world. Hmmmm...
Anyway, let's all hope for the best & cherish whatever we have, although they're not ours at the end of the day. Everything we have, is just on loan. To everyone, myself included, have a rosy year ahead, insya-Allah :)

A new read
Look what I purchased at lunch today!
I've not read a chicklit for a long time and since I've been better able to pace myself out these days (read: able to find free time for myself), I thought it'd be nice to buy a book. The last 2 books I bought were 7 habits of effective pple & some shophaholic book, on yahoo auctions. I've since sold off the latter & still haven't gotten past chap 2 for the first title.
This is the last weekend before the new year, then Mak'll be gone. I wish her a safe journey, back & forth. Will miss her.

A standstill
I think this blog is getting boring.
I've run out of ideas on what to blog about and most times I can't even find time to blog. This is normal isn't it? The phases a blogger goes through.
I'm glad the weekend I've been waiting for since early Dec 05 has come...the long weekend. But not without weddings though. Yesterday was Carol's wedding @Meritus Mandarin. The 2nd wedding I've been to at the same place in 2 months. Today was WT's son's wedding. We went, we ate & we left.
Orchard Road was a riot yesterday (whatever that means). I left the hotel around 10-ish pm & my goodness, throngs of people were heading towards Centrepoint as I think it closed later than usual. There was midnight shopping at Wisma too. I contemplated getting a new set of eyeshadow & lipgloss (yeah, getting really vain regardless of pimples popping out) from Thebodyshop but I changed my mind. After all, it's Xmas, so I really shouldn't sibuk2 to shop too. Wait, maybe sometime next week.
I received lots of gifts at work. The paiseh thing was, I didn't get ready any gifts for them. I suppose I'll have to reciprocate, but I'll give them something at the end of the year, so it seems like an end-of-the-year token, rather than an Xmas token. My colleagues are just so sweet, guys & gals alike.
I'm getting sleepy now, but can't sleep since Mahgrib is a few minutes away. Nana made me her model while she made me up with eyeshadow, eyeliner & stuff. I'm like that, I get sleepy when pple play with my eyes, or if I wear contact lenses for too long.
AH has gone to a gathering at his supervisor's place. An Xmas gathering. Bukan main lagi yer AH? :p
As the world goes on doing their things on Xmas, I'm just glad to lepak at home.
And don't forget, there's a good programme on CNA tomorrow...the Island of a Thousand Mosques. Don't miss it.

Rippin'
Early morning bukannya nak pergi exercise... ni rip songs from my CD to my zen Neeon.
Just now after sending Bapak off at the door, I looked at myself in the mirror and marvelled at the roundness of my face. Instantly I felt like going for a jog, but a second later, I decided to look through my CDs & rip 'em all. Talk about semangat 5 minit.
I'm still hunting for my Tina Arena's In Deep & Sheila on 7 & Peter Pan CD. Where on earth are they? Boo! I've got a feeling Tina Arena's CD is somewhere in Bukit Batok or Yishun. Peter Pan CD, I believe is in office, but at whose cubicle? That's the mystery. 3 of my most important CDs :( And when I was hooked on ebay.com.au, I conveniently sold my Buses & Trains (Bachelor Girl) CD for AUD$12. Now I regret it. That *was* (and I realised, still is) one of my favouritesttt CDs! BOo Hoo :(
Maybe I should trawl the net to recover the CDs. Or head down to cash coverters. Good idea or not eh?
...
Dinner was pizza@Sarpino's yesterday night. Quite yummy, but I prefer the tenderness & succulence of pizza from Pizza Hut. At first I thought it'd be nice to just go out, 2 of us, but later we asked E&W along and it was such fun. I think it's healthy to meet up with friends once in a while so you don't get so tired of staring at yr hubster's / wifey's face for too long. But of course with the ridiculously busy schedules, we're not sure how often this can happen.
A few days to Xmas, I'm just looking forward to the long weekend. Whoohoo!

Little bundle of blessing

As fair as snow white, this girl!
Trying to upload her photos on multiply but I think that site is down now. Try again tomorrow.
Free & easy
Glad there are no wedding invitations today. So it's just me catching up with homely
chores like clearing laundry, sweeping & using the net.

Bought some crabs at the market today so crabs are what we're having for lunch. Mak never cooks crabs at home; I'm the only one who'll cook them.

The thing is, I have no clue how to clean the crabs. I tried surfing the net to learn how to, but it was just too hard. So I coaxed the crab seller to
siang the crabs for me. His wife & himself laughed sinisterly at my request, but must've bought my pathetic look & he agreed to
siang the crabs. Yey, all 24 of them. Ingatkan nak kasi tips ($1 je), tapi tak jadi. I suppose the crabs were expensive enough already :p (cheapskate, seh).
The temporary Geylang market is almost done in construction. I wonder how it'll be like having the market right infront of our place. For sure there'll be quite a smell, and I guess we'll have to be prepared for the honning & sounds of engines delivering the fish to the market at 2-3 am in the morning.

Designed for one
Most gadgets these days are designed for enjoyment & pleasure of only 1 person.
MP3 players, PSP, PSP, laptops, handphones. One can argue that handphones bring enjoyment to 2 people - to the caller, and person who receives the call. Enjoyment, only when the phonecalls are non-work related I suppose (at least this is so for me).
I think it's quite sad & ironic that we grow to entertain ourselves individually when communication is almost the essence of life. I mean, how many times have you seen a lunch partner sms to
someone else while her real lunch partner is sitting right opposite her?
It's an individual world after all. Oh well, when we pass on someday, we'll go on our own anyway, with no company.
...
I took Nana out yesterday on my rare once a month off on Mondays. We caught Zathura. Nana enjoyed it,she was glued to the screen. I enjoyed some of the moments, but caught myself yawning a few times. It's a kiddy show after all.
Then we went on a little shopping spree - nana, not me. I only bought 2 pairs of earstuds. My shopping spree hasn't begun...yet.
Tonight, insya-Allah I'll catch a movie with AH. It has been months since we caught a movie together.
And now it's raining, and I haven't ironed my clothes, and I have to go to work. Time to run.

Passing on
My paternal grandfather passed away less than an hour ago.
Al-Fateha to Tok, Odi bin Sanosie, who has gone to the other side. Amin.
It's Friday, it's a good sign, wallahualam.

Road trip

It couldn't have been any better. Thanks AH for making the road trip possible. Not much shopping done at all; I'd seen myself shopping till I dropped but it didn't happen this time. But Nana sure had the time of her life shopping for stationery at Suria KLCC. Yes, stationery (budak tu budak jugaakkk).

Meeting WY was great & it was cool enough that we even got our own room! Meeting Joe & Dan was even better. It's amusing how we differ in the way we speak though we're just 4 hours drive away from each other.
I liked KL for the interesting range of food I could eat - gosh I've become such a glutton & I almost can't see my toes already. I feel really heavy & I am round now. I've not weighed myself out of sheer fear.
I learnt some interesting things about KL, or rather, the way the people live. Like the times when I went to the ladies & stood out of the way of cubicles, waiting for my turn. I was standing there in the middle when people started to "jump queue", looking at me impatiently as they made their way right smack infront of the cubicles! I suppose that was their way of queuing up, so conform I did.

Melaka was good too, although I was getting a bit grumpy from all the heat. The shopping was good. I blew my money away on stuff for the little ones & of course, icecream from Baskin robbins.

Any holiday is a good holiday. I was back at work on Monday, a bit in denial. It was almost like a dream, we went to KL & back over the weekend. This shot, really pretty, was captured by AH, at Machap, our last stopover before Tuas checkpoint. Birds flying back to where they belong. How wonderful.
Bedtime now.
